Little Princess

Brian and I think Gabby strongly resembles Cole as a baby. Not only do they look alike, but they also have similar temperaments. Gabby likes being held and easily falls asleep when held. If you put her down in her bassinet before she’s in a deep sleep, she’ll wake up. Cole was the same way. Signature Custom Homes gave us an Ergo baby carrier, and it has been awesome in getting Gabby to sleep while leaving us with both hands so we can still get stuff done.

Cole actually asked to hold Gabby, which is a new development.  We are thrilled!

Gabby was the youngest guest in attendance at her aunt’s wedding. Great Grandpa Jack was the oldest at age 94!

Aunt Jillian loves her little niece.  Jillian can help bring out Gabby’s artistic side - photography, book making, cooking, yoga.

First Two Weeks

Thursday, April 16th, 2009

Gabriella is still very much a sleepy baby. She is just now getting to the point where she can stay awake for more than an hour at a time. Here are some pictures of her during her first two weeks.

Lounging on Daddy’s stomach five days after being born.

Aunt Mari came by the house for a visit.

Cole isn’t all that interested in holding Gabriella. I guess two-year olds don’t really have a nurturing instinct. He does, however, enjoy telling her what not to do like “Don’t touch my blanket” or “Don’t eat my jelly beans.”

Looking like a little angel.

Grandma Gigi loves little babies.

Gabriella in her purple Easter dress. I never got a picture of her with Cole in his shirt and tie.

Grandma Wendy comes by often to visit Gabriella and Cole. Fortunately, she’s forgiven Brian for making her get the cameras out of the car while I was in labor. I gave birth to Gabriella while Wendy was searching the car for our cameras.

Gabriella takes her first bath in the bathtub and seemed to really enjoy it.  She didn’t cry at all.

After the bath, Brian put her on our bed in her fancy pink towel from Alisa and Sabra.

Birth Day

Thursday, April 16th, 2009

Here are some pictures that were taken at the hospital.

Minutes after being born.

I was so happy when she finally left the NICU and was brought to the room.  One of the nurses in the NICU commented to Brian that Gabby looked to healthy to be in there! She was almost 9 pounds with an Apgar of 8 . . .

Brian now has a little girl, which I’m sure will end up being Daddy’s Little Girl!

Gabriella slept so much the first day that you would have thought SHE did all of the work to come into this world!

We’re now a family of a husband and wife, a boy and a girl, and a boy and a girl Yorkie. It’s like Noah’s Ark!

Aunt Jillian comes to visit her new little niece.

Dr. Steven Harter is the BEST natural childbirth doctor ever.  He loves his job.

Very active and only one day old.

Gabriella Grace Plaster was born on March 31, 2009. We are so thankful she made it happen before April Fools! She was born in Summerlin Hospital. We checked in around 6:00 a.m., and she was born at 7:07 a.m. She weighed 8 pounds 11 ounces and was 20.5 inches long.
